LASERING AND PLOTTING - WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?

Both processes maintain the narrowest tolerances, have short set-up times and are suitable for both small and large series production. Nevertheless, they are fundamentally different!

The main difference between the two methods is the cutting process: In plotting, material will be cut with a knife. In contrast, the laser uses a fine laser beam to shape the material.

But which process is used in which case?

Lasering

The laser easily cuts materials that would cause problems with the knife during plotting because of their high stickiness. In addition, the laser has greater flexibility so that the narrowest contours can be maintained and more delicate parts can be produced in the shortest possible time.

Plotting

The plotter is used when the material cannot be lasered due to outgassing from burns or because of metallic properties. It is also more suitable for certain materials such as thicker foams.

Did you know that both methods are used to create prototypes?

If the material is in stock, we will produce your prototypes within 24 to 48 hours. So you can convince yourself of the quality and test the material individually for your use.

Send us your data conveniently via the prototyping form on our website - we will take care of it immediately!
