Since the beginning of December, the so-called SAFEDIs are part of our everyday life. They protect the whole team. On the one hand they help us to keep our distance and on the other hand they enable us to quickly break infection chains and take targeted measures. Every employee grabs his or her SAFEDI at the start of work and puts it back on the charging station at the end of the day (although: some SAFEDIS have already seen the homes of our employees, because at first you have to get used to remembering to put it back on the charging station).
HOW DOES IT WORK?
SAFEDIs are small badges that are intended to help prevent infection with the Corona virus or to keep the circle of infected persons as small as possible. In this way, a total lockdown of the company can be avoided. The SAFEDIs enable to track each contact of the individual persons in the company in case of an infection. Affected persons can be sent to the home office or to quarantine. The big advantage is that the other employees in the company can continue to do their work without any problems.
The SAFEDIs work with Bluetooth and exchange radio signals between each other. If two people stand too close for a certain period of time, a beep sounds and the badge starts emitting red light pulses. This ensure that each staff member keeps the safety distance of 1.5 metres.
After a working day, the SAFEDIS are put on a charging station, the "Synchrohub", which is located in a fixed place in the company. During the overnight charging process, all badges are synchronised with the SAFEDI cloud, i.e. all close contacts that took place on the previous day are saved in a kind of diary. Using this digital diary, which can only be accessed by a selected person, every single close contact between two or more people can be analysed. In the case of an infection, the we can show to the health authorities which persons are affected.
